Borussia Dortmund youngster Karim Adeyemi is the latest high-profile name to be linked with Chelsea in the summer transfer window, with the Blues seemingly looking for another winger despite adding Willian Estevao to Noni Madueke.
However, The Trivela Effect website commented that Chelsea should not recruit Adeyemi for many reasons.
Adeyemi is still an inexperienced young player
Although Adeyemi was selected to start in the Champions League final against Real Madrid, he only made a total of 10 starts for Dortmund in the 2023/24 season.
Adeyemi may have played a lot because the German team always tries to create every opportunity for young stars to shine, but with a harsh environment like the Premier League, Chelsea need a player who can compete for a position in the first team.
Adeyemi has been overrated.
Dortmund signed Adeyemi from RB Salzburg at a time when he was attracting interest from European giants Barcelona and Real Madrid, but after a struggling first season he has not been ready to hit top form in 2023/24.
Adeyemi is not an option on the left wing for Chelsea

Dortmund will want more than 30 million euros
Dortmund signed Adeyemi for €30m and they may see the promising German in the same category as Erling Haaland, Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham but that doesn’t mean Adeyemi is or will be as good as those players.
The answer is probably “no” but it is clear that Dortmund want to take the opportunity to sell Adeyemi for a hefty price.
Borrowing Adeyemi is a waste
If Chelsea want to sign Adeyemi, they will have to pay too much for a player who scored three goals and provided one assist in the Bundesliga last season. The Blues could instead accept a loan deal for the young German, but he is still far from a guaranteed place in Enzo Maresca ‘s squad . So a loan fee with an option to buy would be a complete waste of time for both Chelsea and the young striker’s development.
Of course, Adeyemi could develop well and be worth Chelsea’s time monitoring for the future, but as a transfer target in 2024, it seems unlikely.
